Terms, without the fog.
These terms govern your use of Keepsake. By using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
The service
Keepsake provides a local-first personal memory archive with features that may include photos, voice notes, written notes, reminders, search, export, optional account backup, and Apple In-App Purchases. Features may vary by device, operating-system version, plan, region, or release.
Your account and device
You are responsible for keeping your device, Apple ID, sign-in links, and account credentials secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate account information and tell us promptly if you believe access has been compromised.
Your memories remain yours
You keep ownership of content you add. You give Keepsake a limited permission to store, copy, process, and transmit that content only as needed to provide features you choose, such as local storage, export, or optional account backup. This permission ends when the content is deleted, subject to reasonable technical, security, and legal retention.
You must have the right to add the content and must respect other people’s privacy, publicity, copyright, and other rights. Do not use Keepsake for unlawful, abusive, harmful, or deceptive content or to interfere with the service.
Local archive and backup
Keepsake is local-first. Unless optional account backup is enabled and working, your device may hold the only copy. Device loss, app deletion, operating-system failure, or storage damage can cause loss. Keep exports or device backups that match your needs and review any backup status shown by the app.
Optional online copies are protected in transit and at rest, but are not end-to-end encrypted. No storage system is guaranteed to be error-free or permanently available.
Apple In-App Purchases
Paid products, prices, billing periods, trials, and included features are displayed in the app before purchase. Apple processes payment. A recurring subscription renews automatically unless cancelled through your Apple Account at least as required by Apple before the renewal date. You can manage subscriptions in iOS Settings and use Restore Purchases in Keepsake. Apple’s rules govern billing, cancellations, and refund requests.
Limited license
Subject to these terms and Apple’s usage rules, you receive a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Keepsake on Apple devices you own or control. You may not copy, resell, reverse engineer, disrupt, probe, or misuse the app except where applicable law expressly permits it.
Changes, suspension, and deletion
We may improve, replace, limit, or discontinue features, and may suspend access needed to protect users, the service, or legal compliance. You can stop using Keepsake at any time. Deleting the app does not cancel an Apple subscription; deleting an account does not automatically erase exports or local copies. See Delete your account.
Disclaimers and responsibility
Keepsake is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, there are no implied warranties of uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or loss-free storage. Nothing in these terms limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded, including mandatory consumer protections.
To the extent permitted by law, Keepsake’s developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost data, or lost profits arising from use of the service. Any liability that cannot be excluded is limited only to the extent allowed by applicable law.
Apple
These terms are between you and Keepsake’s developer, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or support. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce the terms relating to your license after your acceptance.
Applicable law and updates
Applicable law governs these terms without removing mandatory protections available where you live. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue. We may update these terms as the service changes; the effective date above will change, and material updates will be communicated where required.
